  MAKING AMBROSIA

The consumers at the Benton Residence enjoy hosting barbecues for family and friends during the summer. Ambrosia is always a favorite dish that is easy to prepare. It is best to make the Ambrosia early in the day or the night before your party so it can be served chilled. We hope you will make this for your next family get together or holiday party.

MATERIALS:

(2) 11 oz. Cans Mandarin Oranges
Colander
(1) 20 oz. Can Crushed Pineapple
Large Mixing Spoon
5 oz. Mini-Marshmallows
Large Serving Bowl
1 Pint Sour Cream
Can Opener
1/4 Cup Shredded Coconut
Measuring Cup

DIRECTIONS:

Step 1: Before starting any activity first read the entire directions to become familiar with the project. Always wash your hands well before starting any food preparation. If you are preparing food for a large group you may use food handler’s gloves for sanitary purposes.

Step 2: Place the colander in the sink. Open the Mandarin Oranges and place in the colander, draining all the liquid. You may need to shake the colander to get all the liquid out. Next take out your serving bowl. Place the Mandarin Oranges in the bowl. Open the pineapple (do not drain). Place the crushed pineapple with the liquid into the bowl. Open the mini-marshmallows, you only need to use half the bag (about 5 ounces) place the mini-marshmallows in the bowl. Spoon the sour cream into the bowl. Measure 1/4 cup of the shredded coconut into the bowl. Mix all ingredients well.

Step 3: Chill for about 2 hours. Ambrosia tastes best when served cold. If you are making the Ambrosia for the next day, cover the bowl with foil or plastic wrap to keep the Ambrosia fresh. Serve and enjoy.
