Winter Quilt

Looking for something to do on a blustery, cold winter day? If you like to sew or create arts and crafts projects, a winter quilt is a fun activity to make for yourself or to give as a gift.

The following supplies are needed to complete this creative project:
2 long red pieces of felt
Queen size batting
An assortment of colored felt sheets (black, blue, brown, green and white preferably)
Felt paint in black, brown and green
Red pompons and various ribbons in gold, red and white
A glue gun, scissors and all sewing materials such as a needle and thread

To learn to make such a project on your own, follow these simple steps:

Purchase all the needed material at a local craft store such as Michaels.

Sew the 2 long red pieces of felt together on all 3 sides.

Turn the quilt inside out and place the queen size batting inside the quilt.

Now sew up the 4th side of the felt.

Glue ribbon to the quilt to divide it into 4 sections.

Draw/trace pictures of ice skates, snowflakes, snowmen and any other winter themes, onto the assorted felt sheets.

Cut out these pictures and glue onto the quilt.

Glue additional ribbon, pompons, etc. to the quilt. So, if the snow is piling up outside, stay inside and make a winter theme quilt! It is a crafty project that will pass the time, and remind us of all the things we like about this chilly season.
