The
New Dorp Center offers a full array of services to
consumers aged
18 and over depending upon individual needs and future goals.
Active
community involvement and independence are promoted. Two day
programs are available, which offer life-skill training both
on and off site to meet daily challenges. Resources within
the community are used to provide hands on experiences to
achieve individual selected valued outcomes.
At
the Quintard Center individual schedules are designed
to help consumers learn to be more independent and involved
in the community. Work and training sites have been identified
and are available to consumers who choose to learn work-related
skills.
The
Senior Care and Activity Center offers leisure activities
and social-skills training for people aged 55 and older who
want an active retirement. Crafts, exercise, cooking and other
activities are offered, along with frequent community outings.
The
Senior Network offers classes to teach skills needed for more
active involvement in community activities and provides opportunities
for participation at neighborhood senior centers. Transportation
is available for both programs.
The
Supported Employment program provides training and job placement.
Job coaches are available to assist with the development of
needed skills and facilitate transition into the workplace.
